Points in the Game of Life!
Jan. 23rd, 2008 12:25 amSo, I'm just freshly back from my now habitual 10pm Starbucks run. It's a good idea, I have to say. It stretches the last hours of my productivity out with caffeine and a new location. I actually got a lot of reading done today compared to my thoroughly meager efforts from before, and I'm feeling pretty good about that overall.
I was an actual human being today, and did my laundry. Go me! Sadly, I will already have to repair one of the new pairs of pants I bought at the Gap, because I left the hem too long and it's been dragging. Hopefully it has shrunk a little in the wash.
I'm truly annoyed at the stupidity behind IMDB- they're not allowing prefetching? As in, I can't access an article on their website if I find it through google? I must go *directly* to IMDB and find the information I seek?
No. No, that's not going to happen. What will happen is that I will stop bothering with IMDB altogether, as it never has enough information and now makes me work even harder to get even that small bit of data out. I give up on you, IMDB. I will just use wikipedia from now on, because you're stupid.
Also, worked out the various ways my sister can get from the Vienna airport to my home. (I had a weird freaky moment yesterday when I misheard something my roommate said in passing ("Hey, weren't you in the room before?" as "Hey, your sister's at the door!", and I was filled with dread that I had written the date in for the *wrong* Monday and MB was already here and and and.... In my defense, this mishearing was somewhat more plausible in German.)
I'm still lusting after moo.com cards, having discovered that they have a version in which you can place text from a selection of preset fonts. I found one that looks like what they use in comic books, and amused myself by making onomatopoetic collision cards- BOOM, POW, ZAP, BOFF!
