Random Issues of Productivity

I feel like I got some things done today, though again I feel like my studying is nowhere near as gung-ho as at Swelles.
I emailed my professors for two more of my classes asking for permission to bring my English-German dictionary to class for the final- one of them has not yet responded, but the other has told me that I can answer in English if I like. (I realize that I would not be getting this response if my native language were Croatian, Japanese, or Arabic, but I'm not stupid either.)
I realized how little I spent this month from my alloted budget for certain things, like food, simply by being more of a homebody than usual and not thinking about buying stuff. It's kind of intoxicating, but at the same time I know that it's a fluke for finals period and doing more cooking on my own.
On the comic book front, I picked up Checkmate #22, which had a really great moment with Mademoiselle Marie, a character who I really was unaware of until now. Apparently she's been around since the late fifties, in several incarnations of French patriotism, and this is just the most recent. I've -Give me your name.
Josephine Isabel Tautin.
-I take your name. Take my token now, and tell me who you are.
My name is Sabine Roth, a schoolgirl, and I assassinated the butcher of Fontevraud when others could not.
My name is Anais Guillot, a Maqui, and I fought Germans on the Vercours Plateau.
My name is Simone Michel-Levy, one of the Brotherhood of Notre-Dame and I was victorious at Bruneval.
My name is Zoe Magnier, a mother of two, and I marched with General De Gaulle in Gabon.
My name is Marie Salomon, an actress and a model, and I defended the sacred road during the battle of Verdun.
My name is the Countess Margaux de Mortain and I rejected my privilege to see duke Louis-Phillippe safely to the Hotel de Ville.
My name is Lady Elisabeth Saint-marie, and I kept the honor of my name, and I rode to protect the innocent from the Terror of the Revolution.
My blood have I ever given freely for France. My blood I ever shall.
I am Mademoiselle Marie.
-Checkmate #22 it, and it's honestly beautiful. I'm considering picked up Checkmate more often- this was just a whim, but this was a really well-played moment of depth to a character who I would otherwise have written off as being completely bloodyminded and stupid.
Also, I lust after Moo.com's minicards, but I'm going to wait until I get back to Swelles and can play with photoshop before I give into my wasteful urges.
