By the time I got thru the first day of school, I was slightly dead. So I will recap: I got there, got sorted into a class with other people the same level as me, and then had a rather relaxed day where we did little meeting-other-people games.

This brought about a number of minor discoveries:
1. Women's college has distorted my sense of normal sex-ratio. There was, to start, *one* boy in the class. I didn't notice until people started to make jokes. (Two others came later, bringing the male front slightly less out of kilter.)

2. No one but English-speaking peoples can say "Kathleen". I was variously Kafleen, Kazleen, Katleen, Katalina, and Katarina. I am seriously thinking of introducing myself as Katalina, just so that I can get some consistency.

After class, me and a nice Swedish girl (speaking in English after perhaps the first hour), went to my place for lunch, and then to get directions to IKEA. She needed to go there, since her Studentenwohnheim had *nothing* for her to cook with. I needed a can opener, which I got, along with an apron and a thermos. It was a nice little trip, all in all.

After IKEA, me and my fellow Wellesley-ites went out to an Erasmus student get-together being held at a local Australian-themed bar. It was... disappointing. This was roughly the third Erasmus student activity (one was a tour of the university, and another party), so they'd already met and started to form little cliques. We didn't talk to that many people, and I got stuck with a rather rude Frenchman who wanted to determine that I was from a state that hadn't voted for Bush before he would bother to converse with me. (Newsflash: the way my *state* voted casts no information on how *I* voted. He could have been chatting up a Republican, for all he knew.)

Today, I went to class, and misjudged the distance, and got there late. However, at least two people walked in after me, so I feel better. The others in the class seemed less uptight today, and we ended up hanging out in the Mensa during break in one ungrammatical group. I know that there's some kind of party thing going on now, but it's at another club that I haven't been to yet, and it's raining, so I don't really feel like going out. I've procured dinner, so I should be okay. Me and the roomie chatted a little bit. I've decided that my brand of semi-nonsensical statements as a form of humor translates pretty well, as jokes go.

Internet is being wonky, but I'm going to be watching some House online, and eat some tortellini.
