It really can - the key thing about Moses was that he was able to get in on the ground floor of a government revamp and had the skillset to create positions for himself that would make him *really* hard to remove. Started in parks, got into roads, got into highway building and tolls creation, which meant essentially a license to print money, and from there, housing reform. If he had been just slightly less bigoted and more willing to compromise, we'd probably be singing his praises still - instead we're living with the aftermath of his personal flaws.

If you're at all interested, the podcast did a very good (and much shorter) summary series to go along with the book club - much shorter, still effective.
