I'm working thru it slowly and watching the films to go with it! Mostly really good, some meh,but each author deserves to be taken on their merits.



I do have bee in my bonnet about one bit, Zefyr Lisowski's essay. She says she's talking about the Ring (the first American movie) and Pet Semetary (the movie) but then talks about scenes from Ring 2 (the American sequel) and quotes from Pet Semetary the book, without mentioning that those are actually different films and books. I felt like the distinction mattered!

I didn't actually catch it the first time I read her essay - a friend pointed it out to me, so I felt a bit like I'd been duped when I realized I had not noticed.

But again, this is MY reaction to one piece of writing in the collection. The rest of the collection was really interesting and I liked the opportunity to watch new horror movies with a literary buddy.
