God, yes. I'm usually only feeding two people and it always seems like fresh food is on the verge of going bad the day after you get it. I ended up batch cooking a lot more in the last few years bc of Tamar Adler's book, An Everlasting Meal, had some really sort of helpful strategies on how to manage fresh food. One of them was that if you cook your fresh food right away (even if it's not in the most interesting way) you can dole it out in small amounts over several meals without having to cook extra. That eventually morphed into my current, freezer filling system - because even then it was a struggle to get everything cooked and eaten!
