Date: 2019-02-19 10:49 am (UTC)Almost everything relies on having time, energy, money, and other resources. Those things allow you to take care of yourself. If you don't have them, you can't, and you will burn out.
The reason most caregivers burn out is not because they don't want to take care of themselves. It's because they're not allowed to. They're saddled with obligations which far exceed their resources. The advice tells them to do more -- it doesn't give them more resources. Which makes it as useless as "First, buy a yacht" in most cases.
