Spectacular Spider-Man is far far better. It's as though the 90's version were the rough draft and this the finished copy. (Though in either case I miss the new comics interpretation of Aunt May as a badass. She translates to a rather frail old woman on screen.)

Augh. Yeah, 90's Spider-animation just kind of burned. Thing is, even the mediocre animation and the dull voice work could have made for a decent show if only the massive censorship hammer had not come down on the show so mightily. The laser guns for beat cops and the vampires that hungered for "plasma" (wink wink nudge nudge) through perforated palms just beat any long-term redeeming qualities out of the show.

B:TAS can be watched at any stage in life, even years later. It's possibly the best way to introduce kiddles to Batman; 90's Spider-Man never dreamed so high and stooped much lower.
