kitewithfishBecause of the multitude of forms I had to fill out for my Austrian student visa application, I had a set of passport photos made in July 2007. I thought that I had handed them all out in the course of this year, but I found the last one while I was packing up a box to be shipped today.
It's a little unsettling to be able to hold something in your hand from the past, and know exactly how you felt at that moment. I was thinking that my hair was a mess and that the stupid pull-down sheet at CVS was going to look weird in the picture. Both are true. But I'm looking at it now, and there's just... That's me. That's me from almost exactly a year ago, and I'm not that person anymore. But I don't feel any different. Well, I imagine I would be a bit more relaxed by certain things now- international travel, the ability to communicate in a foreign country, and so on.
But just... There I am. A year went by, and all I have to prove it is this little thing in my hand? Gosh.
