Thank God for small Favors

I am trapped at home on New Year's Eve, while my parents are off at a party to which I was almost certain they would bring my grandmother. This was not the case. Rather, she remains here, blaring the TV at volumes audible from space. I am reduced to listening to Michael Jackson to drown out the moans and wails of Animal Planet.

If I did not have access to a small supply of Jägermeister, I would begin to doubt the existence of a benevolent God.
