So, the worst that could happen to me in Austria has- my computer is in the shop for repair. I spilled coffee on him, and soon thereafter, the left side of the keyboard stopped functioning. In addition, the wireless internet thingbob, Airport, also seems not to work (or to realize that it's even been installed), and it's no longer registering any kind of sound equipment as being part of it's body.
Honestly, it was the last one that made up my mind to get it to the shop- I can use an external keyboard and I can bring 20 feet of wire with me everywhere to plug the suck in if need be, but I need that music. NEED.
On the plus side: nothing seems to have hit the actual functioning of Doomie's harddrive, so no info has been lost. To be on the safe side, I updated the external harddrive again with just about everything from Doomie (even the stuff that I don't think I will ever want to see again). The university has many computer labs, and I should be okay.
Anyhoo, right now he's just being cleaned, and the computer person was pretty surprised by how fast I'd gotten Doomie into the shop for repairs. I might need to replace things and get them fixed, but that's not that bad. Sadly, however, none of this will be covered by the warranty, since it's my own damned fault. Anyhoo, the warranty ends next month, and with it begins the slow decline in my computers functions and ability to be used properly.
Official notice: email is not the best way to contact me right now. I will still be checking on my roomie's computer, like I am now, but I don't want to get too attached to it if I won't be able to be sure of using it when she goes home on the weekends.
