Yeah, the tourist in me
Nov. 10th, 2007 11:47 amMost of yesterday was spent in a blur of light tourism yesterday with Colleen and her visiting Wellesley buddy. It was bracketed by visits to Starbucks, and contained a stop to the Stephansdom, where I bought a truly kitschy floating-toy pen that shows Sisi wandering to and fro in front of the Hofberg. It was nice and low-key and rather horribly cold and wet.
Later, I met up with Sarah and an Austrian girl who'd gone to Wellesley (and who seemed to have as much nostalgia for Wellesley as we seem to for Vienna), and it was lovely, and Wellesley picked up the tab for the first two rounds. Which was really about as long as we lasted. It was a nice night, and I found a Strassebahn that goes to the Oper.
Today, I have to read two very short books, and I am trying to hunt down somewhere where I can sit and read them and drink coffee and not be disturbed. I think that Starbucks may be my solution. Which is sad.
