Well Christie started with him, too, so that's not a bad way to go :)
I always liked her Poirot books best, myself. David Suchet made for the most likable Poirot on film that I've seen, though I also liked Albert Finney in Murder on the Orient Express, though I thought he was a little exaggerated whereas Suchet is more precise.
I have, however, her whole collection though it's been over 10 years that I read one, so I've read all her detectives and the one shots that had none. If you find Styles to have been hard going by the time you finish, I would recommend The Murder of Roger Aykroyd (might have misspelled it), the Orient Express one, and Curtain (Poirot's final case) before giving up on the rest of her work.
