That's roughly the feeling that I get from most Christie readers. And I'm happy reading Georgette Heyer, which is far sillier and also stuck in a time period. I imagine I'll just approach it as "it was another era" and see if I like them for the characters and plot.
Do you recall having a favorite Christie novel? Because I am slightly inclined to start with the Hercule Poirot books based on liking the actor who plays him in the BBC adaptations, and that might not serve me well.
