a good day
1) Ravelry is banning support for white supremacy and Trump from their website. Yay! https://www.ravelry.com/content/no-trump
2) I put in an offer on a condo, it has been accepted, and now we have to do the work of actually buying it. I really like it! It's bright and pretty and in a good location!

Hating in support of hate is not permitted.
We will not permit witch-hunts, progressive loyalty-testing, or attempting to bait another into admitting support for President Trump in order to get them banned. The mod staff will deal harshly with attempts to weaponize this policy.
6. It is not open season on conservatives, and revenge fantasies against Trump and Trump supporters are still against the rules.
Good luck with that.

Oops, thread misfire. Sorry.

Strange as it may sound coming from a registered Republican, and weird as I think it is to ban support for the President of the United States(!) I fully support the right of both sites to do this.
“Liberty” is more than a word on a coin. Freedom means the right to disagree - which of course they do NOT permit, hence the banning of heretics - but that’s their problem. We don’t need to ban people. They do.

I feel slightly bad for the people on Facebook who are trying to keep a rein on stuff they actually do ban - the burnout is apparently horrible, especially for people moderating video content that includes some truly vile shit, and the leadership could do so much more about it. Ravelry, at least, has a tighter focus and a smaller userbase to start from.
