Neil Caffrey, Sentinel and swindler, uses his enhanced senses to forge and fool his way through a life of crime, until he meets a Guide named Peter Burke working for the FBI white collar crimes unit.


Just.... WHY DID I NOT THINK OF THIS BEFORE? IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE.

Would someone please take this plot bunny and make it happen?

I approve of the bunny too, only I'd be more likely to write the version where the conman is the guide, Blair, and the FBI agent is the sentinel, Jim Ellison. I doubt this would surprise anybody who knows me. *g*

I am SHOCKED. SHOCKED.

I just kind of love the idea of a conman Sentinel, ya know? There's a lot of bond!fic out there, which is a genre I love beyond words when it's done well, that tends to turn Sentinels into proto-cops who instinctively want to protect a given plot of land. The idea of a wandering Sentinel using his powers to totally swindle rich people and charm girls makes me warm and fuzzy.

If you take the conman as hero sticking it to the (rich) man, the idea does indeed have a certain charm. *g*
