In current news:

These are the goings on in my life.

1) I have switched from the Masters of Arts in Divinity (MA) program to the Masters of Divinity (M.Div.). What does this mean? I will spend another year in school, for a total of three. I have to play a little catch-up on getting the requirements for the degree. I will have to do some practical work in a parish. I am okay with really all of this.

2) My doctor has AGAIN called to reschedule the same appointment. This is more than a little obnoxious.

3) I have a ten dollar gift certificate for Starbucks coming to me for using my debit card more. This makes me a happy girl, as it means I get free coffee.

4) My roomie broke our coffee maker's pot, which will cost roughly as a much as the device itself to replace. It was her pot, so I am not really annoyed, but it means I am seeing more of Starbucks these days.

5) The Boy broke his replacement teapot. This is a sad state of affairs.

1) Yayayayayayayay! Are you joining us in colloquium or is it too far gone?

2) Goddammit barack obama we need that health care reform

3) Yay more coffee that is free

4) That sucks let me look through my shit it is entirely possible that I have a cheapo one that will do the job right even if it won't grind the shit itself and run on a quartz-clock alarm

5) I know your later thing talks about having replaced said broken replacement, but I have a friend who makes her OWN teapots as an independent artisan and she would TOTES give me good deals on teapots if you ever want one

1) too late for this quarter, but I will next quarter and they will be adding some stuff to next years practicum for me and Mr. Not-A-Cow to get some of the same experience.

4) It's my roomie's coffeepot, and I think she will probably be the one looking to replace it- the whole thing is gone now, I'm not sure if she's keeping the thing or throwing it out or what.

5) Ooooh, I love handmade teapots- mostly cause I made a lot of them myself. Does she have a website- I'm good for the moment but I can be induced to drool

You can get coffee pots, sans coffee maker, at goodwill/amvets/etc, for super very cheap. And since it's all glass and metal, and just a little plastic, it's easy to disinfect and use. Just make sure you bring the coffee maker with you, because if you don't get the right coffee pot to go under the automatic drip thing, coffee will surely spill all over your kitchen while you are in the shower until you have 12 cups of coffee on your floor. Not that I know from experience or anything.
