What I've Read
Monstress, Vol. 6: The Vow by Marjorie M. Liu with Sana Takeda (Illustrator) (Hugos 2022 Nominee for Best Graphic Story or Comic) - Sadly, this book didn't grow on me because it's not really designed to stand alone. It was a bit like nominating one episode from a TV show - maybe it's fantastic in context, but I just don't have the context. Perhaps I'm spoiled by the mainstream comic convention of *telling your reader the names of characters* but, well, it was not something handled in the text. It was interesting enough that I wonder if the whole series is worth digging into.
What I'm Reading
Far Sector by NK Jemisin with Jamal Campbell (Hugos 2022 Nominee for Best Graphic Story or Comic) - This is great so far - a murder mystery with a Green Lantern as a detective on a distant and complex planet.
Worthy Opponent by Katee Robert -This is an alternate universe of Captain Hook/Tinkerbelle (normal sized human) with some mafia elements layered on top. It's indulgent and I'm enjoying it immensely.
What I'll Read Next
Golden Age by Naomi Novik, Master of Djinn, Once and Future, Die -Bleed, Monsters in the Closet, The Invention of Love, Secret Diaries of Ann Lister
