Half way there

I had my first class of the week today (and doesn't that sound thrilling). It's actually the third class of my Middle High German seminar, and I suspect that I would either love or loathe this professor if he were speaking English. As it is, I have a long period of confusion and frantic note-taking, paired with a few minutes of satisfaction at my own translation of something that some of the other students can't do. (Factoid: Middle High German had additive negation- two no's in a sentence just make you more negative, instead of contradictory. I personally think this is just a better system.)

Apparently there are two new American boys on our floor- I heard them talking in the hallway on Saturday, I think, but I assumed that they were a party of the fifth floor Americans misplaced. They are however here and rooming together. I have yet to see them, but it will come, I presume.

Two Wellesley girls are coming this Thursday to come and visit Vienna, and one will be sleeping either on my floor or in my roomie's bed. I have no idea how well that will work out, but hey. They should be fun.

I discovered only today a place called Demmels Teehaus (Demmel's Tea House), which is a lovely little tea shop and house very near the university. Going there was incredible relaxing to my soul, and a whole (about 4 cups) pot of tea for one is only E2.90. Compared to my Starbucks habit, this is far more affordable. I'm trying to watch my expenditures, but I am very much in the black. It's a nice feeling.
