Random Thoughts of a Girl Who's Recently Spent Too Much Time at Her Desk

1. I miss free Photoshop access through my college. One of the great tools of computer-based procrastination, other than watching far too many movies, is playing around with images. My new camera would give a great deal of fodder for this kind of thing, but I lost it when I last had to deal with computer troubles over the summer. In any case, the program wouldn't work without being at Swelles directly, so I'd be doomed in any case.

2. I'm going through old episodes of Rome and just watching the cute parts with Titus Pullo and Eirene. He's just such a cute little monster. (Which makes me await the upcoming Punisher movie with Ray Stevenson a little less patiently, ya know? Hopefully they don't try too hard to screw with his accent- Brits playing Americans can often rise above the issues of accent, but it takes time and practice. As if thinking about character and intonation weren't hard enough, you essentially have to make sure that the words *sound* right, too- it can really crap up a performer sometimes.)

3. I've cobbled together a second American-to-European converter plug out of one US-to-Eastern-Europe converter plugged into an Eastern-Europe-to-Western-Europe converter that had gotten left in the room before me. It's probably not the most efficient thing ever, but it works. Having only the one was a manageable issue, but it made it hard to work with both my laptop and external harddrive at once for any length of time- my laptop would have to run off the battery, which is getting fidgety with old age. (I may have to replace it too. Gr.)

4. Honey in coffee is so much more satisfying than white sugar. Dunno why.

5. The New Roomie Chrissi basically seems to be acting like the old one, with the exception that her boyfriend is a Bulgarian dude who lives on this floor. I think she sleeps in his room, but she has a variety of friends here as well with whom she might crash. The Bulgarian guy is nice, in a large and goofy kind of way, and loves music to the point of adorability. They both seem like the type to dance the night away, so it works out pretty well.
