Two Finals and a Partidge in a Pear Tree

I have just done two finals, and I have no fears about whether I passed or not. I feel, honestly, like the final questions were the easiest that I've ever seen: it was as thought the professors were begging "please, please give us something so that we can pass you!"

That said, these were two finals in which I could bullshit significantly and not have a problem with it: the point of gender studies classes is really to even notice that gender exists. You really have to get deep into the theory before you even get to the point where you talk about what the gender means. When you pair it up with something else, like the study of National Socialism, then you really tend to just get the same old kind of history about Nazis that you got in your normal culture, but with more focus on women. Since I was kind of filtering for that my whole life, not a hard test.

Me and Mary Beth cooked dinner (her potatoes were *amazing* on a variety of levels) and now we're going to try to get a table at Hotel Sacher for some Sacher Torte and spy on the famous well-dressed people heading into the Viennese Opera Ball. It should be a good time, so long as there's not some standing tradition for people to head to the Hotel Sacher in droves on this date.
